therapy with me

The Therapeutic Experience

I believe that therapy is a place where you can put your protective armor down and have permission to be your most authentic self.

Healing our wounds can be a sad, heavy, painful, enlightening, compassionate, and forgiving journey. I believe that in order to come to a place of peace within ourselves, we must look back on our life’s timeline and work through the parts of ourselves that feel most heavy and hurt. If we are able to examine our hurt, then finally we can heal. Through healing, we can create new loving, authentic, and healthy patterns for ourselves and in our relationships.

how we can work together

I find it most productive and comfortable when working in a collaborative and conversational manner, where you are the leader and I am the listener, helping to provide insight and awareness where it has maybe not been recognized before. I am typically drawn to working from a Person-Centered approach, providing empathy and understanding as well as working to truly meet you where you are at in your healing journey.

I often find it helpful to add some structure in treatment as well and will utilize a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach by challenging negative thought patterns and setting achievable goals that help you grow rather than feel discouraged.

My experience

Helping others has always been a passion of mine which ultimately drew me to therapy. I have learned that being able to make a connection with someone as well as to provide a listening ear have both proven to be very impactful in my time working with others.

I began my career by earning my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at California State University, Channel Islands in 2017. I then spent two-and-a-half years working with children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disorders using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

I accomplished my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology (MFT) at California Lutheran University in 2020. I received counseling experience from California Lutheran University’s Community Counseling Services, where I worked with adults, couples, and adolescents.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been working in a private practice setting for over three years where my therapeutic focus has consisted of working with adults in individual therapy. In this space I help further insight, heal through past experiences, and collaboratively create new patterns that more closely align with the individual’s most authentic self.
